When to Contact Your Doctor
Most side effects are normal and manageable, but it’s important to know when to seek medical help. If in doubt, always contact us – we’re here for you.
Contact Immediately
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately if you have:
Emergency Symptoms:
- Severe abdominal pain that doesn't go away or gets worse
- Persistent vomiting (more than 24 hours) preventing you from drinking water
- Signs of severe dehydration:
- Extreme dizziness
- Very dark urine or no urine
- Rapid heartbeat
- Confusion
- Allergic reaction:
- Difficulty breathing
- Swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat
- Severe rash
- Sudden vision changes or vision loss
- Lump or swelling in the neck that wasn't there before
- Pancreatitis (severe upper abdominal pain radiating to the back)
Contact Within 24 Hours
Go to the nearest emergency room within 24-Hours if you experience:
Concerning Symptoms:
- Nausea or vomiting lasting more than 3 days
- Persistent diarrhea (more than 5 episodes per day for 2+ days)
- Severe constipation (no bowel movement for 3+ days)
- Very rapid weight loss (more than 4 lbs per week)
- Extreme appetite loss (eating nothing for 24+ hours)
- Extreme fatigue that doesn't improve with rest
- Persistent dizziness or fainting
- Severe mood changes or depressive thoughts
- Skin problems at injection site (redness, warmth, pus)
- Low blood sugar symptoms (if taking other medications)
Routine Follow-Up
Contact your doctor if:

- Mild side effects you want to discuss (nausea, bloating, etc.)
- Questions about your medication (dosage, storage, injection technique)
- Questions about your progress (weight loss pace, appetite changes)
- Need dose adjustment
- Want nutrition or exercise advice

- Need medication refill
- Want to change your treatment plan
